REMINDER: Blackboard Purge of Spring and Summer 2008 Courses

|
Per the CMU Policy for Purging Learning Management System (LMS) courses: http://www.cmich.edu/documents/blackboard/policies/purging_LMS_courses_090507.pdf the Office of Information Technology will purge those courses in the CMU Online Learning Environment (OLE) that are older than one calendar year on October 14th, 2009 (Spring and Summer semester, 2008 - 08500, 08700).  This purge will also affect certain course shells which were created for organizations, research and other special purposes.  Owners of special purpose shells will be contacted individually.  Instructors of courses from this time period that would like to maintain course content and grading data are requested to follow the procedures outlined in the above policy. For assistance regarding archiving your LMS data, contact the OIT Help Desk at 3662 (989-774-3662).

NOTE: Purging is the process of permanently removing courses and contents from the LMS. Purging courses from the LMS is necessary to properly manage storage resources and ensure adequate system performance. A "purged" course is removed from the LMS and cannot be restored. Access to all content and by all users is permanently removed.
