Local Universities are reacting to the proposed budget by the house.
Some Universities around the state say they are unsure of how they will adjust to the possible elimination of the Michigan Promise Scholarship because it is not yet set in stone.
J.J Boehm is with Saginaw Valley State University. He says around 1,400 students at SVSU receive the scholarship.
"The key to rebuilding Michigan's Economy is to increase the education of it's citizens. The states with the highest per capita incomes are those states that have the highest number of college graduates. Michigan needs more students in college not fewer."
The Michigan Promise scholarship is the biggest in the state covering over 95,000 students.
