MPSC plans forums for consumers

With summer winding down one organization in the state wants people to know just what they're in for when it comes to energy rates.

The Michigan Public Service Commission will host seven consumer forums throughout the state for the next couple of months.
They say the purpose of these seminars is to update consumers on the latest information regarding rates for electric and natural gas.

Judy Palnau Is with the Michigan Public Service Commission.

"At each one of these forums one of the commissioners will be there to make a brief presentation but also to make a brief presentation but also to answer questions and hear about people's concerns with regard to anything that relates to what the commission regulates, which are utility type issues and we can get large groups of people at these so we are looking forward to hearing from folks and this year in particular.  Because of all the changes that have taken place to Michigan's energy laws we're expecting a lot of people to come."

The commission will be coming to East Tawas October 8th.
