The Charlevoix library will give people a chance to learn a little bit more about what's in their pictures this weekend.
CMU Public Radio's John Ketchum has more.
Nationally known history expert Maureen Taylor will be paying a visit to the Charelevoix Public Library this weekend. Taylor has been nicknamed the "photo detective" due to her ability to tell people the history behind their pictures.
Taylor says she hopes to pass some of her talent on to people this week, so they can be their own "photo detective".
"I can teach them basic techniques such as what they already know about a picture such as whose house did it hang in who gave it to them. Are there any family stories related to it. And then you look at basic things. What type of photograph is it. Is it a paper glass is it on metal all those happened at different periods of time."
Taylor says the biggest mistake people make when telling a story through photographs is relying handed down information rather than factual information.
